Information and support for carers
There are different types of supports available for families of children with a disability and carers of adults with a disability.
Carer Gateway
Carer Gateway has been set up for people who care for someone with a disability, chronic illness, mental illness or who are frail and elderly. It includes a website, phone service and service finder to help carers find their nearest support service.
The Carer Gateway service is available online or by phone 1800 514 845 (Monday to Friday, from 8am to 6pm local time in all states and territories).
Carers Victoria
Carers Victoria is a state wide voice for family carers, representing and providing support to carers in Victoria.
Carers Victoria can be contacted via email or freecall their Advisory Line 1800 242 636 (Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm) from anywhere within Victoria.
