Diabetes Victoria acknowledges the traditional custodians of our lands and pays respect to their Elders, past and present. We strive to reduce the impact of diabetes on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in Victoria.

    Diabetes Victoria have culturally adapted four short videos about diabetes for the Koorie community. These include Healthy eating, Exercise and diabetes, Managing diabetes and My feet and diabetes.

    Education and training

    Diabetes Yarning is a two-hour interactive workshop delivered to community in person or via Zoom.

  • Traditional Place Names Guidelines

    In 2022, Diabetes Victoria has consulted with the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation and has received their endorsement regarding the correct use of the Traditional Place Names throughout our current resources and addresses.

    About the NDSS

    The National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) is an initiative of the Australian Government that commenced in 1987 and is administered with the assistance of Diabetes Australia. The NDSS agent in Victoria is Diabetes Victoria.
