Lisa has been dedicated to diabetes care for 28 years, beginning with supporting her partner with type 1 diabetes. Eighteen years ago, she became a parent to a child with type 1 diabetes and coeliac disease, further deepening her personal and professional experience. She also has a parent with type 2 diabetes, giving her insight into the challenges across different types of diabetes.

Beyond daily management, Lisa has extensive experience in traveling with diabetes, including adventure travel such as skiing, multi-day high-altitude hikes, kayaking, and scuba diving.

Lisa holds a science degree in genetics and psychology and is a registered nurse as well as a credentialled diabetes educator. Before studying nursing, her passion for diabetes care led her to work on a project developing an app designed to help people using insulin predict blood glucose levels and calculate insulin doses.

Lisa is a firm believer in empowering individuals with diabetes and those who support them. She is a strong advocate for holistic, person-centred care and works to address both the physical and psychological needs of the people she supports.
