Assess your diabetes risk during National Diabetes Week
National Diabetes Week highlights the impact of diabetes, which is the fastest-growing chronic condition in Australia.
Around 90 people develop diabetes every day in Victoria.
People can live with type 2 diabetes without experiencing symptoms.
Some people live with the condition for up to seven years before it is diagnosed.
“If you’re a Brunswick local or live nearby, we encourage you to assess your type 2 diabetes risk on the SiSU Health Station,” Diabetes Victoria CEO Glen Noonan says.
“Otherwise, you can access the risk calculator (AUSDRISK) on our website.
“Both free health checks take less than five minutes.”
The Diabetes Victoria Clinic will offer $20 off initial consultations booked in July. This coincides with National Diabetes Week and the Clinic’s first birthday.
The Clinic offers pump starts and upgrades for new and existing clients.
Expert diabetes health professionals at the Clinic can also offer guidance about other diabetes technology.
A free webinar on July 17, Exploring Diabetes Tech: what you need to know, will be presented by Diabetes Victoria health professionals.
They will unpack frequently asked questions about diabetes technology and guests will have the opportunity to ask their own questions live.
