Travellers Aid

Free companion service. Travellers Aid offers trained volunteer companions to meet people at the train, bus, tram, or taxi and help them find their way around the city to and from medical appointments, social activities, events or work/education. For medical appointments, this includes all hospitals, specialists, and dental clinics.

About Travellers Aid

The service is free.

Operates Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. Weekend or out-of-hours services can be requested and are dependent on volunteer availability.

Can be booked by calling 1300 700 399 or via online booking.

Is available to regional and metropolitan travellers over 18 years of age or accompanied by a parent/legal guardian.

Can be booked up to one week in advance. A minimum of 48 hours is required for bookings.

Requires travellers to have their own transport costs covered.

Travellers should be able to travel independently, walk unassisted or with the help of mobility equipment.
